The concept of imitation and contrast is developed through the properties of wax and wood. The materiality of wax allows for this comparison: both rigid and plastic, it transforms to inversely imitate the form of the wood, while its translucency creates an a seemingly occupiable space. Models aimed to explain how water - one of the four elements - transforms a solid body through carving and usage of negative space that become spatial cells and, eventually, a hermit’s island dwelling.
